If you have older carpeting or other floor surfaces in your home that you are just tired of or hate the boring way they look, there is a new solution in town. Carpet tiles are becoming very popular. The reason for this is because they can be purchased in as many colors as you can think of and many different patterns too. You can get them in different sizes also.

The wonderful thing about carpet tiles is that you can install them yourself and fairly easily at that, but even that is not the best part. When it comes to doing our own thing with our decorating, well, some of us get more carried away than others. If you are the kind of person who loves a little flare or a little drama in your designing techniques, then choosing carpet tiles can be exactly what you need.

When you use carpet tiles they defiantly do not have to be all the same, that would take all the fun right out of it. Carpet tiles make it so easy to divide your room into individual sections that will be used for different things.

You can create designs that are unique only unto you. You can have a carpet tile center in the middle of a room that is octagon shaped in red and surround it with whatever other color you choose. You can make a border around your room in one color and make the center carpet another color.

Create a checkerboard pattern of black and red that would be great in a boy’s room. Create hopscotch patterns of pink and purple and yellow for a little girl’s room. You are only limited to what your imagination can come up with.

If you decide to give carpet tiles a try, be sure and purchase some extra ones in every color. One of the great things about carpet tiles is if one gets damaged or stained beyond repair, just take it up and put down another one. It is that easy.

Carpet tile can also be purchased in pieces that look like jigsaw puzzles and they interlock to fit together perfectly. Some carpet tiles can be purchased in prints like leopard, zebra, or tiger skin. How cool is that? Carpet tiles are available in indoor-outdoor styles too. These will work great for spaces like porches and patios. If you are an unconventional person try the unconventional carpet tile.
