Nikon D5000 Unboxing and Nikkor 55-200mm VR lens *Better Quality!

*Better quality! This is my most expensive unboxing video. In this video I unboxed a Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera 2 lens kit. Got this at Costco Online for a total of 26! After playing with the camera for several hours, I was just amazed how easy it was to use and the quality of the pictures! I will have a review up here in a few months as I am still trying to get all the details so I can give you a very good review! Also be sure to subscribe because I will be doing a lot of reviews and tutorials around this camera! This camera is a 12 MegaPixel camera with a CMOS sensor. It is the second Nikon DLSR that is able to capture video. Also it is the first Nikon DSLR to have a fully articulated screen. This camera falls between the Nikon D60 and D90 models. This camera falls in-between an entry-level DSLR and a mid range DSLR so basically your getting both of best worlds with this camera! Please leave a comment if you have questions. Right now I can only answer simple questions about the camera as I am still getting familiar with the device. Included items: Nikon D5000 Digital SLR Camera AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Image Stabilization) AF-S DX VR Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED(Image Stabilization) 4GB SD Card Carrying Case EN-EL3e Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Quick Charger USB Cable A/V Cable Strap Software Suite CD-ROM

Nikon’s lens are better quality in my opinion plus they have a lot more experience like I said in making SLR’s than Canon. It feels very durable, no loose doors, nothing commingo out etc. Could you please be more specific on that one lens you said? There are many lenses from Nikon that will work great on the D5000! Anymore questions please reply!

  • blztank:

Thanks again man I really appreciate your help, one more question lol then I’ll leave you alone,What is a great everyday quality lense that will work wonders on this camera? perferably a lense under $800 and something superior to the kit lense? Thanks again,I’m really leaning towards this camera

  • Hazardteamck:

Please don’t say “I will leave you alone”, if you interpet it that way. I am here and I will always help you! I would recommend just the standard kit lens which is the Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens. It gives you 3x zoom which is really helpful and this lens is great just for all around use! And if your interested in taking landscape shots or want a huge zoom lens, then get the 55-22mm VR lens! Anymore questions please reply!

the canon 500d has better size screen, better res, better sensor, better hd recording at 30fps and better video sound, i think that the only thing people will buy the nikon mainly is for the screen, and imo it’s a gimmick and spoils the dslr segment of photography

  • Hazardteamck:

Yes but with a bigger screen your using more power. Also the screen isn’t articulated on the T1i, also you need good optics to exploit resolution, you get only 3.4 fps on the 500d unlike with the D5000′s 4fps, also the the D5000 boasts superior noise and detail at higher sensitivities. Both are good cameras and each of them have their advantages. With the Canon you get more megapixels, better HD movie recording etc. But on the D5000 you get 4 fps, 11 point focus, and the articulated screen.

yah but still cameras r meant for photos right not video eh? canons look so stupid with image quality compared to nikons, boy u need to get out in the real world and if u had half a brain u would now dat nikon is the best over canon. i think ur a selfish person u now. u fail to metion dat canon has only 3fps like wat hazard said. listen for once and it wuld really help u.

ur probalbly advertisin for canon eh?
i think im reportin ye for spam.

  • rtg84729:

i think dats a lame excuse atyl1972 y canon is better. well its not. no the reason people buy nikons is cuse of their image quality cuse canon sucks when it comes to image quality. dude they are like the worst for low light eh? so stop advertising for canon or im gonna report ye to utube for spam. I think that was just a lame excuse right there. y dont u just admit dat u cant simply afford nikon. get a nikon instead of the cheap canon. u get wat u pay for eh.

  • TeTRoSeX:

Plus you’ve got interval shooting. In camera editing, and of course, the NIKON D5000!!!

  • TheSuperProfessional:

    Were these the AF-S DX VR Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED Lens ?

  • Hazardteamck:

    yes

  • nil1230:

i dont see an d3000 unboxing

  • Hazardteamck:

Are you going to pay for it? I cannot afford another D-SLR camera. Besides, the D5000 is superior over the D3000 because the D5000 has 2 more megapixels, 4fps, an articulated screen, CMOS sensor etc.

  • dontworrybxhappy:

    Should I get a d90 or a d5000
    Please reply
    which one is better!
    reply please

  • mclaurin10:

Or they will buy the Nikon for the somewhat cheaper price, better kit lens, and easier to use for beginners UI that has visual representations of ISO and Aperture, or NIkons better build quality.

  • Hazardteamck:

Both are great cameras and each of them have their advantages. For example, the D5000 has the articulated screen, user friendly interface, same 12 mega pixel CMOS sensor. The D90 has an LCD screen on the top of the body, 4.5fps, AF motor for older lenses, but I doubt this will help if you are buying it with a lens. It really depends on what you want to do with the camera. If you just want a simple, easy to use SLR, then get the D5000. If you want a more professional like camera, get the D90.

  • 20012639:

I’m stuck between this and Rebel t1i. Which camera should I go for if I like to travel around and taking pics of good views and even pictures of people?? Thanks in advancee. :D

  • Hazardteamck:

In my tests, the Nikon D5000 is superior for image quality especially for low light conditions. Also you get that articulated screen so you can compose at different angles. If you want clear and good looking images of good views and pictures of people, get the D5000! Anymore questions please reply!

  • zacharybeschler:

    Yours came with a 4GB SD card? Lucky…mine didn’t.

I got the same setup though, D5000, 18-55mm VR, 55-200mm VR. Great video! :) Would have rated 5 stars but ratings are disabled…womp womp womppp.

  • Hazardteamck:

I’m sure you can get them for a really cheap price now days! Thank you for your comment and I am sorry I disabled the ratings. The reason why I do that is because people will rate my videos one star without even watching it.

  • cheryl1358:

I just opened mine a few days ago….sooooo exciting :o)

  • TDOGO:

Just got this today from costco it was 850+tax, I also bought (2) 4 gig cards it all came to 971. so far I have taken about 10pics, cant wait to morning to go out and play with my new toy

  • dickthedalek:

What is the connector at the back of the lenses made of (where it locks into the body of the camera)?? I heard it is plastic, is that so, or is it metal??
I can’t decide between a d5000 or a d90 – the d5000 is supposed to be a good ‘beginners’ camera, so I am worried I will outgrow it quickly.

  • Hazardteamck:

It is made of plastic it looks like. Personally, I would add to that list of yours. Get the D300s. It has better HD Video qualtiy, 8fps, more controls, more rugged body and better preformance than the D90. But I would get the D90 over the D5000. The reason I didn’t get a D90 is because I wanted the articulated screen plus I was on a strict budget as well and the D5000 will give you similar results with image quality.

  • Chamyoul:

    on the nikon strap
    does it say nike d5000?

  • Hazardteamck:

@Chamyoul No. All it says is Nikon. Only the D300s, D700, D3, D3x, and D3s say the models on the strap.
