Dish Network vs Direct TV: Don’t Make the Same Mistakes I Did
It’s been almost a year since my grandmother passed away and left her house to me. What does that have to do with satellite TV? A heck of a lot. Stick with me and you’ll see.
Looking back, I must’ve been crazy to move from an uptown loft in New York City to a tiny town called Quicksand, Kentucky. But I spent every summer there as a child and had a lot of great memories attached to the place.
There were always so many things to do there we hardly ever turned on the television, and I guess I had forgotten the only TV programs we did watch were the ones that her antenna could pick up from neighboring towns.
Talk about a culture shock!
I have a very profitable online business and had to have not only a satellite TV provider, but one that offered Internet access as well. I knew about the whole debate between satellite TV providers, so once I finally decided to make the move, I started looking for information to compare the two.
Even though money really isn’t an issue for me, I still like to know I’m not getting ripped off, know what I mean? I figured I’d do a quick Google search, hit a couple of websites, and make my decision. Simple, right? I wish.
What a nightmare! First of all, there’s something like a million websites and I can’t tell you how many are, well, just awful. But I’m a persistent person, and this time it paid off.
I finally did find three websites — yes, there are only three of them — that gave me all the answers I needed to make an informed decision.
Comparing Dish Network and Direct TV, I noticed a lot of similarities and frankly, I think either company would probably serve you well. But I wound up going with Dish Network, simply because they were offering a great price on a package that included that Internet access I told you I needed.
But here’s the thing. Those promotions they seem to always have going on are always changing. You need to be sure that the site you’re on is up-to-date with their information. If you find sites that keep on top of all the changes, like I did, especially on a daily basis, you’ll save yourself so much time, effort and frustration.
Now, here are a couple of things I noticed while researching Dish Network vs Direct TV. For starters, they both seem to highly value their subscribers. They each have a customer service line available 24 hours every day.
They also offer comparable prices, although Dish Network may come out a little more ahead here. But if you’re a big sports fan, you may want to take a closer look at Direct TV.
I’ve been very pleased with my choice of Dish Network and I got a real sweet deal from them. But that doesn’t mean you’ll get the same thing.
Like I said, their offers are always changing, which is why you have to have all the facts, which in turn will make it much easier to decide what’s best for you and your family.
So who wins the contest between Dish Network and Direct TV? As far as I’m concerned, it’s their subscribers! Start researching those deals and you’ll see what I mean.
